A Day on the Farm with Imfuyo: Growing Together for a Sustainable Future πŸŒΎπŸ„πŸ–πŸŒž

On a lovely evening in Nairobi County, we embarked on a journey to visit a farmer who is not just any ordinary farmer. He is an all-round farmer, cultivating crops, rearing dairy cows, beef cows, and goats. He invited us to his farm to explore the potential of Imfuyo farm productivity solutions.

A Warm Welcome in Nairobi County πŸŒ‡

As we toured his expansive farm, we were treated to warm milk straight from the cow and fresh bananas plucked right from the tree. The evening was perfect, just before the heavy rains poured down. Our team of Imfuyo experts began by conducting a thorough analysis and assessment of the farmer’s needs.

Imfuyo farmers are just the best! The farmer blessed us with these bananas that were very delicious

The farmer currently has two cows, one of which produces over 10 liters of milk per day. Each liter sells for Kshs. 80 or $0.53, earning him an easy Kshs. 24,000 or $160 monthly. Our assessment established that we could double this milk production by advising him on nutrition, production, and the health of the cow.

Imfuyo’s Dairy Cow Program πŸ„

At Imfuyo, we offer a bouquet of services. Apart from veterinary services, like in this specific case, we also offer financial solutions such as fodder financing, livestock purchases, and livestock insurance. We collect data to unlock and sustain these financial and dairy cow solutions. We have two credible veterinary officers leading our dairy cow program. They assessed the current health of the cow and its feeding habits. We also recommended creating a livestock ID by tagging the cow’s ears and bolus’ing the cow to avoid hardware illness.

The star of the show, Queen The Cow, joined us and was minding her own business at the back as she fed to generate more milk for the farmer πŸ₯›πŸ˜„

Our next step was to insure the cow for mortality through our insurance arm, Imfuyo Insurance Agency. This gives peace of mind to farmers, knowing their investment is protected.

We also identified the need to finance another dairy cow for the farmer. His needs were clear: he wanted a cow that could produce 18 liters or more per day, earning him an extra income of Kshs. 1,440, or $9.62 daily, or Kshs. 43,200, or $288 monthly.

A Visit to Kiambu County πŸ–

Our journey continued with a visit to a prominent pig farmer in Kiambu County who needed a comprehensive veterinary program. Our veterinary officers guided him on all matters related to health, production, and nutrition.

Our team reviewing the pig’s records together with the farmer πŸ–πŸ˜„

The pig farmer was particularly interested in our Imfuyo Pig Program, designed to increase pig weight while reducing production costs. We agreed on a daily feeding program that would see the pigs’ weight double to over 100 kg in record time.

Conclusion 🌾

As we wrapped up our visits, we were filled with admiration for these hardworking farmers who are not just feeding their families but also contributing significantly to our nation’s food security.

We left feeling inspired and more committed than ever to our mission of supporting farmers through our Imfuyo farm productivity solutions. We look forward to more farm visits and transforming more lives through farming.

Remember, farming is not just a job; it’s a way of life! Let’s keep supporting our farmers! πŸ‘¨β€πŸŒΎπŸ‘©β€πŸŒΎ
