Empowering Rural Farmers for Sustainable Livelihoods
After the resounding success of our first cohort, Imfuyo, through Imfuyo Foundation and Imfuyo Financial Services, is proud to launch Cohort 2 of the Imfuyo Foundation Farmer Empowerment Program (IFFEP), strengthening our commitment to transforming dairy goat farming and uplifting rural livelihoods.
Imfuyo Foundation, with crucial support from our parent company, Imfuyo Corporate, is proud to share the transformative journey of the Muthegi Farmers Group — a thriving community initiative we built from the ground up. Over the past 24 months, we have dedicated ourselves to creating sustainable solutions that empower small-scale farmers, enhance food security, and boost rural economies.
Our Impact in 24 Months
Through a strategic blend of education, financial support, and hands-on assistance, Imfuyo Foundation has achieved remarkable milestones within the Muthegi Farmers Group:
- From 27 to 150 Goats: Through strategic donations and purchases, we have expanded livestock holdings, increasing productivity and sustainability.
- 33+ Liters of Daily Milk Production: Supporting both commercial sales and household consumption, ensuring improved nutrition and income generation.
- 10 Training Sessions on Financial Literacy & Sustainable Farming: Equipping farmers with essential business and financial skills to manage and grow their enterprises.
- $500 Grant to the Farmer Group: Providing a financial boost to enhance productivity and self-sufficiency.
- Free Livestock Tagging, Record-Keeping Training & Data Collection: Implementing structured tracking methods for improved farm management.
- Sponsored Animal Husbandry Services: Ensuring livestock health through veterinary care and professional guidance.
- Donation of Two Bucks (Male Goats), Each Worth $150: Enhancing breeding programs to improve herd genetics and milk yield.
- Donated Milk Chilling Freezer: Extending shelf life and improving market access for fresh dairy goat milk.
- Increased Farmer Earnings: Dairy goat farmers now earn between $40 and $70 per month, creating a sustainable income stream for rural families.
Aligning with Global Food Security & UN SDGs
Imfuyo’s work is deeply aligned with global food security efforts and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
- SDG 1 (No Poverty): Providing farmers with income-generating opportunities.
- SDG 2 (Zero Hunger): Enhancing food production through sustainable dairy goat farming.
- SDG 8 (Decent Work & Economic Growth): Equipping farmers with skills for long-term economic stability.
